SAN ANTONIO, July 22 (Ticker) -- All-Star Margo Dydek showed her former club what they are missing.

Dydek had a season-high 18 points and eight rebounds and Katie Douglas scored 15 points as the Connecticut Sun posted a 79-61 triumph over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

The 7-2 Dydek made 9-of-16 shots while recording four steals and six blocks. A native of Poland, she played her first three seasons with San Antonio before joining Connecticut last year.

The Sun outscored the Silver Stars by 22-10 margin in the second quarter to create a comfortable 44-29 advantage at the half. Connecticut (17-6) never was threatened therafter and remains one game ahead of second-place Detroit (16-7) in the Eastern Conference.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin collected 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and fellow All-Star Lindsay Whalen added 13 points and seven assists for Connecticut, which shot 50 percent (33-of-66) from the field and matched the franchise record of 25 assists in a game decided in regulation.

Rookie sensation Sophia Young had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Silver Stars, who shot only 31 percent (25-of-80) in losing their fourth straight meeting with the Sun.

Next Games: Indiana hosts Sacramento on Tuesday, while Connecticut plays in New York on Monday.
