SAN ANTONIO, July 21 (Ticker) -- All-Star Alana Beard scored 18 points to lift the Washington Mystics to their second straight road victory, an 80-77 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

Chasity Melvin added 16 points for the Mystics, who shot just 38 percent (29-of-77) from the field but made 17-of-21 free throws.

Trailing, 69-58, entering the fourth quarter, the Silver Stars rallied and forged a 77-77 tie on a pair of free throws by rookie All-Star Sophia Young with 1:04 left.

San Antonio had a chance to take the lead but committed a turnover. Nikki Teasley made a layup to give Washington the lead with 21 seconds to play.

Young missed a jumper, Teasley split two free throws and Shannon Johnson and Shanna Zolman missed 3-pointers in the waning seconds as the Silver Stars dropped to 4-6 at home.

Teasley had 14 points and nine assists for the Mystics, who held a 40-33 rebounding advantage.

Agnes Bibrzycka scored 19 points and Young added 16 and nine rebounds for the Silver Stars, who shot 44 percent (27-of-61) but committed 19 turnovers.
