GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Ticker) -- The Detroit Shock cooled off the red-hot Los Angeles Sparks.

Swin Cash scored 18 points as the Shock snapped the Sparks' six-game winning streak with a 73-59 victory, their fourth triumph in the last five games.

All-Star Deanna Nolan collected 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Detroit (15-7), which has won 11 of its last 14 games. Cheryl Ford picked up her 11th double-double of the season, collecting 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Shock, who improved to 8-2 at home.

The Shock took control early, using a 17-4 run to end the first quarter and build a 23-10 lead. Detroit opened a 32-14 bulge on a 3-pointer by Kedra Holland-Corn with 5:58 remaining in the second quarter.

The Sparks closed to 55-52 on a basket by Lisa Leslie with 6:05 left before the Shock responded with a 14-6 spurt capped by Cash's bucket that made it 69-58 with 1:06 to go.

Leslie, who was held to two points in the second half and finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles (19-6), which dropped to 9-2 against Eastern Conference opponents.

Chamique Holdsclaw added 20 points for the Sparks, who shot 35 percent (23-of-65) from the floor.
