WASHINGTON (Ticker) - Diana Taurasi was determined not to have
poor games on consecutive days.
Taurasi scored 18 points as the Phoenix Mercury defeated the
Washington Mystics, 96-83, in a matinee affair.
Kelly Miller and Penny Taylor each produced a season-high 22 points for the Mercury, who fell at Indiana on Tuesday as
Taurasi mustered just seven points on 3-of-14 shooting.
Taurasi connected on 8-of-20 shots in this one for Phoenix,
which had lost five of its previous eight games.
Washington took a 71-69 lead into the fourth quarter but was
outscored, 27-12, in the final period as Taylor scored eight
points for the visitors.
Alana Beard scored 23 points to pace the Mystics.
