SEATTLE, July 18 (Ticker) -- Rebekkah Brunson, Hamchetou Maiga-Ba and Kristin Haynie picked up the slack for the starters.

Brunson scored 15 points and Maiga-Ba and Haynie also reached double figures off the bench to lead the Sacramento Monarchs to a 74-61 victory over the Seattle Storm.

Maiga-Ba added 11 points and Haynie 10 for the Monarchs, who held a 50-18 advantage in bench points.

Brunson led the way off the bench, making all seven of her shots. The trio of Brunson, Maiga-Ba and Haynie combined to make 17-of-23 shots.

Without center Lauren Jackson, who dressed but did not play due to a left foot injury, the Storm held a 10-9 lead after the first quarter before the Monarchs began to take control.

Maiga-Ba started a 12-3 run with a basket and Haynie capped it to give Sacramento a 21-13 lead with 4:56 to play in the half.

Betty Lennox scored 16 points to lead Seattle. Her basket with 6:51 remaining in the third quarter pulled the Storm within 37-33.

However, the Monarchs used a 17-1 surge, capped by Erin Buescher's layup to build a 54-34 cushion with 10 seconds left in the third quarter.
