CHICAGO, July 14 (Ticker) -- Michelle Snow and Sheryl Swoopes validated their All-Star selections.

Snow tied a career high with 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds and Swoopes added 20 and five assists as the Houston Comets snapped a three-game losing streak with an 82-77 victory over the expansion Chicago Sky.

Rookie Mistie Williams added nine points for Houston, which shot 48 percent (27-of-56) from the field and made 21-of-27 free throws.

The Comets, who led virtually the entire way, jumped out to a quick five-point lead and held a 27-21 advantage after the first quarter behind 10 points from Swoopes. She and Snow combined for 27 points in the first half, which ended with Houston owning a 42-39 advantage.

A layup by Williams gave the Comets their biggest lead at 64-53 with 1:54 remaining in the third quarter before the Sky rallied within 66-61 entering the final period.

Chicago closed to 79-75 on a layup by All-Star rookie Candice Dupree with 55 seconds left. But Tamecka Dixon sank a free throw and Dawn Staley drained two to seal the victory.

Bernadette Ngoyisa scored 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting and Jia Perkins added 14 and six assists for the Sky, who fell to a league-worst 3-16.
