SEATTLE, June 23 (Ticker) -- It took just over eight minutes for Betty Lennox and the Seattle Storm to turn a thriller into a rout.

Lauren Jackson scored 27 points and Lennox added eight of her 11 points during a pivotal third-quarter burst that fueled the Storm to an 87-57 triumph over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

San Antonio closed to within 47-40 on a jumper by Shannon Johnson with 9:12 remaining in the third quarter. But Seattle responded with a crisp 20-3 surge, during which Lennox scored the first eight points.

Barbara Turner capped the burst with a layup with 1:03 left in the period, giving the Storm a 67-43 lead. Their advantage never sank below 22 points thereafter.

Jackson made 10-of-13 shots and added seven rebounds, while Janell Burse scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards as Seattle snapped a two-game slide.

Katie Feenstra scored 12 points to pace the Silver Stars, who shot just over 30 percent (21-of-38) from the floor to fall to 1-2 on their four-game road trip.
