UNCASVILLE, Conn., June 22 (Ticker) -- Margo Dydek and Lindsay Whalen each scored 16 points as the Connecticut Sun downed the
Minnesota Lynx, 79-62.
Asjha Jones scored 13 points with 11 rebounds and Katie Douglas
added 12 points for the Sun, who outrebounded the Lynx, 50-31,
to improve to 5-1 at home.
With the game tied, 40-40, Connecticut closed out the third
period on a 15-5 run to stretch a six-point halftime lead to
55-45. Nykesha Sales then scored the first five points of the
final period to give the Sun a 60-45 lead.
Nicole Ohlde had 16 points and seven rebounds while Seimone Augustus, the first overall selection in this year's draft,
added 15 for the Lynx, who fell to 1-5 on the road.
Connecticut shot 43 percent (31-of-71) and held Minnesota to
just 36 percent (28-of-78).
Next Games: The Sun head to Chicago to face the Sky on Friday, and the Lynx host the Liberty on Saturday.
