MINNEAPOLIS, June 18 (Ticker) -- Seimone Augustus rebounded from the
worst game of her career with one of her best.
Augustus matched a career high with 32 points as the Minnesota
Lynx coasted to a 94-82 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.
The first overall pick in the WNBA draft, Augustus scored a
season-low seven points on 2-of-14 shooting in Friday's 90-60
loss against San Antonio. Two nights later, she looked like a
totally different player.
Augustus made 11-of-18 shots and all eight of her free throws en
route to her second 32-point game of the season.
Tamika Williams scored 10 of her 12 points and Augustus added
nine in the opening quarter, when the Lynx raced to a 29-16
lead. They held a 52-39 advantage at the break and cruised
thereafter.
Nicole Ohlde added a career-high 22 points for the Lynx, who shot 51 percent
(36-of-71) and held a 43-28 rebounding advantage in snapping a
two-game losing streak.
Diana Taurasi scored 23 points and rookie Cappie Pondexter 22
for Phoenix, which shot 37 percent (25-of-68) and fell to 0-4 on
the road.
