AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 17 (Ticker) -- Deanna Nolan and Cheryl Ford were all over the court for the Detroit Shock.

Nolan had a season-high 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and Ford added a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Shock coasted to a 71-55 victory over the Houston Comets.

The All-Star duo combined to shoot 15-of-29 from the field and make all six of their free throws for Detroit, which won back-to-back home games after coming off a 1-3 road swing.

The Shock held a 14-point lead at the start of the second quarter and pushed it to 34-16 on consecutive baskets by Swin Cash and Katie Smith with 2:15 remaining in the first half.

Houston pulled within 49-40 with just over eight minutes left in the fourth period, but Nolan and Ford combined to score the next 11 points for Detroit to rebuild a double-figure advantage.

Ruth Riley scored 10 points and Cash added nine for the Shock, who shot 42 percent (29-of-68) overall despite making just 2-of-12 on 3-pointers.

Sheryl Swoopes collected 18 points and eight rebounds and Tina Thompson scored 16 for Houston, which shot 30 percent (18-of-59), falling to 1-1 on its three-game road trip.
