PHOENIX, June 16 (Ticker) -- Diana Taurasi is having quite a week.

Taurasi scored 15 of her career-high 35 points in the fourth quarter as the Phoenix Mercury posted a 91-86 victory over the Connecticut Sun.

It marked the second straight game in which Taurasi, who is one of the WNBA's more notable players, established a career high. The former University of Connecticut star scored 32 points in Tuesday's loss at Los Angeles.

Taurasi became just the fourth player in league history with back-to-back 30-point games, joining teammate Cappie Pondexter, Sheryl Swoopes and Cynthia Cooper.

In her latest big effort, Taurasi made 10-of-15 shots and 10-of-11 free throws. She scored six points in an 11-4 fourth-quarter surge that gave the Mercury a 77-73 lead.

Pondexter scored 15 points and Jennifer Lacy came off the bench to net 13 for the Mercury, who have won three of their last four games following an 0-4 start.

Katie Douglas scored 27 points, Nykesha Sales added 21 and Taj McWilliams-Franklin grabbed 17 rebounds for the Sun, who had a five-game winning streak snapped.
