CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 15 (Ticker) -- Laurie Koehn made the most of some rare playing time.

Koehn led a third-quarter surge as the Washington Mystics pulled away for a 96-77 victory over the Charlotte Sting.

Nikki Teasley and DeLisha Milton-Jones added 17 points apiece and Alana Beard 15 for the Mystics, who used a crisp second half to pick up their first road win in four tries.

A seldom-used reserve who scored nine points while playing a total of 20 minutes in her previous six games, Koehn provided the spark in the third quarter, when the Mystics outscored the Sting, 35-17, to erase a four-point halftime deficit.

Koehn drained three 3-pointers and scored 11 of her 12 points in a 26-12 run over the final 7:11 of the third quarter that helped Washington open a 73-59 cushion.

The Mystics shot 65 percent (13-of-20) in the third quarter and 52 percent (20-of-38) in the second half en route to their best offensive performance of the season.

Monique Currie scored 22 points to lead the Sting, who fell to 2-4 at home despite making 31-of-44 free throws.
