SAN ANTONIO, June 9 (Ticker) -- Rookie Seimone Augustus proved too much for the sizzling San Antonio Silver Stars.

Augustus scored 27 points and Nicole Ohlde added 18 and 12 rebounds as the Minnesota Lynx claimed their first road win with an 86-79 victory over San Antonio, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.

The top overall pick in the WNBA draft, Augustus has more than proven herself as an impact player, scoring at least 20 points in all but one of her first seven contests.

This game was no different as the former LSU shot 10-of-22 from the floor and converted 7-of-9 from the line. In a tight affair with just over four minutes remaining, Augustus sank 3-of-4 free throws for a 68-67 edge.

San Antonio managed to tie the score on a free throw, but Kristen Mann responded with a 3-pointer and Augustus added a layup to make it 75-70 with 1:15 left. Minnesota extended that lead to seven points before the Silver Stars' Agnieszka Bibrzycka hit two shots from the arc in the closing 12 seconds.

Amber Jacobs scored 12 points and Mann chipped in 11 for the Lynx, who won for the third time in their last four games.

LaToya Thomas scored 17 points off the bench and Shannon Johnson had 14 for San Antonio, which could not overcome a 49-26 deficit on the boards.
