CHICAGO, May 23 (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Monarchs are showing they mean business as defending WNBA champions.

Nicole Powell scored 19 points and Rebekkah Brunson added 13 as the Monarchs won for the second time in as many games with a 76-63 victory over the expansion Chicago Sky.

After taking seven of eight playoff games en route to the league title last year, Sacramento has been command in its first two outings. The Monarchs opened the campaign with Saturday's 105-78 victory over Phoenix.

Powell, who averaged nearly 11 points last season, made 8-of-13 shots, including three 3-pointers for the Monarchs, who never trailed and held a 33-27 rebounding advantage.

Stacey Lovelace-Tolbert hit all five shots to score 11 points and Candice Dupree added 10 for the Sky, which suffered their first loss after Saturday's one-point triumph over Charlotte.
