WASHINGTON, May 23 (Ticker) -- Alana Beard opened her second season as a pro in impressive fashion.

Beard scored 25 points on 11-of-12 shooting and DeLisha Milton-Jones added 12 as the Washington Mystics coasted to a 95-60 victory over the New York Liberty.

Washington wasted little time taking control as Beard scored 11 points in the first quarter for a commanding 27-8 advantage. Beard's floater in the lane made it 41-21 with 6:07 remaining in the second quarter.

Coco Miller scored 10 points off the bench for Washington, which shot 54 percent (38-of-70) from the field and held a 50-10 edge in points in the paint.

Shameka Christon scored 18 points while All-Star Becky Hammon struggled with just seven for the Liberty, who shot 31 percent (16-of-51) and surrendered 35 points off 28 turnovers.
