Connecticut (1-0) at Minnesota (0-0) 9:00 pm EDT

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Seimone Augustus makes her debut when the Minnesota Lynx open their season at home against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.

The No. 1 overall draft pick in April, Augustus was impressive during the preseason, averaging 28 points in two games. The Former LSU star is just the second player in women's college basketball history to be named Player of the Year twice.

Minnesota also selected guard Shona Thorburn, who finished second in the nation in assists at Utah, in the first round with the pick acquired in a late-season deal with Detroit for franchise leading scorer Katie Smith. The Lynx return eight players from last season's squad.

All-Star Nykesha Sales had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Sun, who posted a 91-74 victory over New York in their season-opener on Saturday.

Connecticut shot 50 percent (8-of-16) from the arc and dominated the paint, holding a 38-16 advantage in points.

The Sun won the season series, 2-0, last year.
