Jackson scored 23 points and Wendy Palmer enjoyed a successful debut with her new team as the Seattle Storm coasted to a 90-67 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks in the season opener for both teams.

Jackson looked quite fit in the opener, making 8-of-11 shots and grabbing six rebounds in 27 minutes. She scored 15 points after halftime to help the Storm take control for good.
Signed as a free agent after spending last season with San Antonio, Palmer collected 18 points and 12 rebounds. The veteran forward scored 10 points in the first half, helping the Storm grab a 42-32 lead.
Lisa Leslie scored 24 points and Mwadi Mabika added 19 for Los Angeles, which played without Chamique Holdsclaw (personal reasons).
