Natalie Williams had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Fever (17-12), who surpassed their previous high of 16 wins, last done in 2003. Indiana remained one game ahead of New York in the race for second place in the Eastern Conference.

Williams sank a 14-footer at the 3:30 mark to give the Fever the lead for good. Kelly Schumacher added two free throws with 1:14 remaining before Miller took over.
After two free throws by Phoenix's Anna DeForge, Miller drained a 3-pointer for a 56-52 lead with 35 seconds to play. DeForge made a layup, but Miller made four free throws around a pair by Maria Stepanova for a 60-56 bulge with 7.9 seconds left.
Deanna Jackson scored 13 points and Tamika Catchings added 12 and eight boards for the Fever, who made 21-of-22 free throws, including all 14 in the second half. They overcame 32 percent (19-of-59) floor shooting to complete a 2-2 road trip.
DeForge scored 18 points and Stepanova added 13 for the Mercury (13-14), whose lead over Los Angeles for the West's final playoff spot was reduced to one-half game.
Taurasi scored eight points on 2-of-6 shooting and committed seven of Phoenix's 20 turnovers.
