SEATTLE, July 29 (Ticker) -- Janell Burse was nearly perfect on a memorable night.

Burse scored a career-high 27 points and Lauren Jackson added 21 as the Seattle Storm rolled to their fifth consecutive win with a 79-68 victory over the Charlotte Sting.

After scoring 11 points in the first half to help the Storm (13-10) build a 33-23 lead at the break, Burse made each of her first four attempts in the second, including a layup for a 44-35 edge with 16:24 to play.

Overall, the fifth-year center shot 11-of-13 from the field and grabbed six rebounds. She surpassed her previous high of 21 points, accomplished back on June 2 in a win at Phoenix.

Jackson made 8-of-15 attempts from the floor and Sue Bird sank three 3-pointers to finish with 17 points. Bird also handed out seven assists and blocked two shots.

Jia Perkins scored 21 points and Sheri Sam, a member of Seattle's championship team last season, and Tangela Smith had 12 apiece for Charlotte (3-20).

The Sting, who trailed for the rest of the game after Jackson sank a turnaround jumper with 14:24 left in the first half, was outscored in the paint by a 42-28 margin.

Charlotte has lost its last eight games.
