In a back-and-forth affair, Washington (9-8) took a 73-69 lead with 1:36 remaining when Delisha Milton-Jones stole the ball from Sue Bird and passed to Johnson, who streaked up the court for a layup.

After Seattle (8-10) answered on a jumper by Iziane Castro Marques, Johnson buried a jumper over Bird as the shot clock expired to make it 75-71 with 37 seconds left.

Bird, who scored all 16 of her points in the second half, then missed a jumper that Johnson rebounded and Charlotte Smith-Taylor was fouled. She made 1-of-2 free throws for a 76-71 edge with 15 seconds to play.

Johnson had 12 points and four assists and Alana Beard and Milton-Jones scored 15 apiece for the Mystics, who completed their first season sweep of the Storm since 2001.

Castro Marques tied a season high with 19 points and Lauren Jackson added 17 and eight rebounds for Seattle, which lost for the sixth time in its last seven games.
