But Indiana rallied before Arcain, who shot 8-of-11 from the field and finished with 16 points, took over.
Arcain hit a jumper with three minutes left for a 61-59 lead, another jumper with 35 seconds left for a 65-63 edge, then sank her game-winning dagger from 12 feet after Tamika Catchings had tied the game on a runner with 27 seconds to play.
Indiana rallied behind Catchings' 15 second-half points, but her desperation 3-pointer as time expired was no good. Catchings, who entered this one shooting just 30 percent from the floor, including 5-of-26 in her last two games, made of 10-of-17 shots and scored 26 points. Swoopes, who took only two shots in the opening half, finished with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting and added five assists.
