CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 16 (Ticker) -- Tan White again got the best of Janel McCarville.

White outplayed McCarville for the second time this season to lead the Indiana Fever to a 60-57 victory over the Charlotte Sting.

The contest marked the second meeting this season between the top picks in the WNBA draft. White was selected second overall but has enjoyed a much better rookie campaign than McCarville, who has struggled.

White scored 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes. McCarville missed all four of her shots and scored two points in 15 minutes.

In the season opener on May 22, White scored seven points to lead to the Fever to a 68-58 victory over the Sting. McCarville scored two points in just seven minutes before leaving with an injury.

While White and McCarville still are youngsters, the contest was decided by a some veterans. Seven-year veteran Tully Bevilaqua made a 3-pointer with 3:22 left to give the Fever the lead for good at 56-53.

With Indiana holding a 58-57 lead, Tamika Catchings came up with a big defensive play when she stole the ball from Tangela Smith with 1.1 seconds left. The fourth-year forward then stepped to the free-throw line and made two foul shots to seal things.

Catchings scored 12 points and Natalie Williams grabbed 10 rebounds for the Fever, who have won three straight games for the first time in franchise history.

Allison Feaster scored 14 points and Smith and Sheri Sam added 11 apiece for Charlotte, which dropped its fifth straight game and lost for the eighth time in nine contests overall.
