INDIANAPOLIS, June 1 (Ticker) -- Yolanda Paige scored just one point but it turned out to be a big one.

Paige made 1-of-2 free throws with 52 seconds left and Ticha Penicheiro missed a potential game-winning jumper to end the game as the Indiana Fever posted a 61-60 victory over the previously unbeaten Sacramento Monarchs.

Looking to continue the best start in franchise history, Sacramento (3-1) turned the ball over after Paige's free throw. After Tamika Catchings missed a jumper, the Monarchs got their starting point guard a chance to win the game.

Penicheiro was just 1-of-8 from the floor for the Monarchs, who were in the game all the way despite 24 turnovers.

Catchings led the Fever (4-1) with 18 points and Tan White added 17 off the bench, including 10 in the first half as Indiana built a 37-34 lead.

DeMya Walker scored 12 points and Yolanda Griffith and rookie Kristin Haynie added 10 each for Sacramento, which was outscored, 19-10, at the line.

Neither team led by more than six points. There were 11 ties and 11 lead changes.
