MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 8 (Ticker) -- Allison Feaster had 17 points,
including eight during a key run to open the second half, as the
Charlotte Sting held on for a 72-68 victory over the Minnesota
Lynx.
Feaster, who was just 8-of-28 in four games since returning from
the Olympic break, broke out during a 14-3 run after
intermission. Her layup with 15:37 remaining gave Charlotte a
45-35 edge.
Charlotte Smith-Taylor also had 17 points, nailing 3-of-4
3-pointers, and Dawn Staley had seven points and a season-high
10 assists for the Sting, who won for just the second time in
their last six games.
Minnesota got seven points in the final 27 seconds to cut the
deficit to two, but Staley hit two free throws with five seconds
left to finish the scoring.
Nicole Ohlde had 19 points and eight rebounds for the Lynx, who
shot 39 percent (24-of-62) and dropped their third straight at
home.
