Taurasi drained six 3-pointers and scored a season-high 29 points as the Mercury won their second straight with a 71-59 victory over the Charlotte Sting.

Phoenix improved to 2-1 on a seven-game road trip - a lengthy journey that takes it to both coasts. The Mercury entered off Tuesday's 77-65 triumph at San Antonio in which Anna DeForge scored 26 points.

Two nights later, the night belonged to Taurasi - DeForge's backcourt mate. The rookie sensation made 11-of-17 shots and added eight assists and seven rebounds.

The Mercury opened the second half on a 15-5 tear for a 44-27 lead with 14:49 remaining. DeForge, who scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting, scored the final five points of the tear.

Charlotte lost for just the second time in seven games. Allison Feaster led four Sting players in double figures with 15 points.
