HOUSTON, June 27 (Ticker) -- Sheryl Swoopes scored 16 points and triggered a decisive second-half run as the Houston Comets continued their dominance of the Washington Mystics with a 72-67 victory.

Swoopes made just 4-of-16 shots but gave the Comets the lead for good at 57-55 with two free throws. She added a jumper before Sheila Lambert made a 3-pointer for a 62-55 advantage with 4:26 to play.

It was at least a two-possession game thereafter. Houston made 8-of-12 free throws in the final three-plus minutes to improve to 10-1 all-time vs. Washington.

Kedra Holland-Corn scored a season-high 21 points, Michelle Snow added 12 and Lambert 11 and 11 rebounds for the Comets (8-7), who improved to 2-3 without injured forward Tina Thompson.

Chamique Holdsclaw scored 20 points to lead four players in double figures for the Mystics.
