The Silver Stars won for the first time since beating Sacramento on May 28. That win improved them to 3-1 record, but the losing streak dropped them to the worst record in the WNBA.

In this one, San Antonio took a 37-25 lead at halftime before Minnesota got close. The Lynx went on an 11-2 run to start the second half to pull within 39-36 with 16:04 to play.

But Thomas scored four points in a 12-3 spurt that pushed the lead to 51-36 nearly four minutes later. After the Lynx got close again, Thomas scored three points in a 12-3 burst that put San Antonio ahead, 66-52, with 2:26 to play.

Thomas led the team in scoring for the fourth time this season but also had plenty of help as four players reached double figures. Marie Ferdinand and Margo Dydek finished with 13 points apiece and Adrienne Goodson collected 11 and 12 rebounds as the Silver Stars shot 50 percent (24-of-48).

Minnesota shot just 35.5 percent (22-of-62) and lost for the fourth time in five games. Katie Smith led the Lynx with 18 points, but made just 7-of-21 shots.
