WASHINGTON, June 4 (Ticker) -- Wendy Palmer had 21 points and 10 rebounds and rookie Lindsey Whalen scored 13 points as the Connecticut Sun rallied for a 72-63 victory over the Washington Mystics.

The Sun lost their first two games of the season at home but have bounced back to win three in a row. They began a stretch in which they play five of six games away from home with a dominant finish to their first road contest of the season.

Washington had a 39-30 lead at halftime, but Connecticut dominated the final 20 minutes, scoring 42 points. The Mystics had a 60-59 edge with 6:26 remaining before the Sun reeled off eight straight points to seize control.

Whalen buried a 3-pointer and assisted on a basket by Taj McWilliams-Franklin during the spurt. McWilliams-Franklin sealed the game with a jumper with 67 seconds left and Palmer made 3-of-4 free throws in the final 35 seconds.

McWilliams-Franklin finished with 12 points and nine rebounds and Katie Douglas added 10 points for Connecticut, which shot 46 percent (26-of-57) from the floor and made 8-of-16 attempts from 3-point range.

Chamique Holdsclaw scored 25 points and rookie Alana Beard added 13 to lead the Mystics, who are winless in three games at home this season.
