UNCASVILLE, Conn., May 25 (Ticker) -- This time, Tina Thompson had her teammates backing her up.

Thompson and Sheryl Swoopes scored 17 points apiece to lift the Houston Comets to a 68-57 victory over the Connecticut Sun.

Thompson had a career-high 35 points and set a WNBA record by scoring 56.3 percent of her team's points in Sunday's 68-62 loss to the New York Liberty. Swoopes was the only other Comet in double figures.

Two nights later, the Comets had more of a team effort. Michelle Snow added 11 points as Houston finished 2-1 on its road trip.

The Comets also snapped a two-game losing streak against the Sun. Houston last beat Connecticut on Aug. 3, 2002 when the Sun were known as the Orlando Miracle.

Houston began the second half with a 16-2 run to build a 51-33 lead with 13:41 left.

Katie Douglas led the Sun with 21 points and Nykesha Sales added 14. First-round pick Lindsay Whalen was held scoreless in 24 minutes as the Sun (0-2) remained winless.
