UNCASVILLE, Conn., Aug. 22 (Ticker) -- In a game with big implications for the Connecticut Sun, Katie Douglas came up with a big performance down the stretch.

Douglas scored 21 points, including the go-ahead jumper, as the Sun defeated the Charlotte Sting, 63-55, in a game between playoff contenders.

Nykesha Sales added 15 points and Taj McWilliams-Franklin 13 for Connecticut.

Only first-place Detroit has clinched a playoff spot in the East. Four teams from the conference will make it into the postseason.

The score was tied, 54-54, before Douglas nailed a jumper with 3 minutes remaining to start a 9-1 run to close the game. Douglas added 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch.

Shalonda Enis scored 17 points to pace Charlotte but had only three after halftime.
