Minnesota secured a postseason spot Wednesday with a 69-66 triumph at Phoenix. Against Los Angeles, the Lynx allowed the Sparks to shoot 53 percent (31-of-58) while connecting at less than 38 percent (26-of-69).
The Sparks moved two games ahead of the Houston Comets for the top spot in the Western Conference with two games left. Los Angeles needs one win to clinch the top seed.
Lisa Leslie got Los Angeles going early, scoring seven of her 13 points during a game-opening 9-2 run. She also finished with 10 rebounds.
Delisha Milton chipped in 16 points and Mwadi Mabika added 14 on 6-of-7 shooting for the Sparks, who extended their winning streak against the Lynx to 16 games.
Svetlana Abrosimova scored 13 points and Janell Burse had 10 for Minnesota.
