UNCASVILLE, Conn., Aug. 5 (Ticker) -- Swin Cash scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures as the Detroit Shock extended their winning streak to five games with a 78-61 victory over the Connecticut Sun.

A former University of Connecticut standout, Cash has averaged 20 points during the streak. She helped the Shock take control early, netting five points during a game-opening 16-2 run in which Detroit held the Sun without a basket for nearly seven minutes.

Cash totaled 17 points in the first half as Detroit shot 61 percent and took a 47-28 lead into the locker room. The Shock never let the margin slip below 13 points in the second half and finished at 52.5 percent (31-of-59).

Ruth Riley and Kedra Holland-Corn added 13 points apiece and Elaine Powell and Deanna Nolan each chipped in 10 for the Shock, who moved 5 1/2 games ahead of second-place Charlotte in the Eastern Conference.

The Sun could not overcome their largest halftime deficit of the season, shot 37 percent (25-for-67) and lost for just the second time in seven games.

Katie Douglas paced Connecticut with 14 points.
