INDIANAPOLIS, July 23 (Ticker) -- Reserve Kelly Schumacher scored a
career-high 22 points as the Indiana Fever coasted to an 81-47
victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars.
Schumacher made 7-for-9 shots and helped Indiana record the most
lopsided victory in franchise history. The Fever also avoided
dropping their third straight game as they shot 52 percent
(30-for-58) overall, pulling away early in the second half.
Indiana, which improved to 9-1at home, held a 36-27 lead at
halftime. The Fever opened the second half with a 16-7 run,
building a 52-34 cushion with 11 1/2 minutes remaining.
The Silver Stars suffered their season-high fifth straight loss,
shot just 24 percent (16-for-66) and did not place a player in
double figures.
