Holdsclaw scored 14 points in the first half, when the Mystics took the lead for good. Washington opened its largest lead at 60-47 on a 3-pointer by Jones with 13:36 to go.
The Silver Stars closed within a point on two occasions, the last time at 66-65 on a layup by Jennifer Azzi with 6:17 remaining. They still were within 74-72 after a free throw by Margo Dydek with 2:27 left before the Mystics closed the game with an 11-5 run.
A jumper by Page, a layup by Dales-Schuman and a free throw by Holdsclaw made it 79-72 with 53 seconds to play. Dales-Schuman missed two free throws and LaQuanda Quick hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 79-75, but Miller and Holdsclaw each made two free throws to seal the win.
Washington's winning streak has followed a season-high 11-game losing streak.
Azzi and Dydek scored 17 points each and Gwen Jackson and Semeka Randall added 11 apiece for San Antonio, which shot 41 percent (31-of-78) in its fourth straight loss.
