AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 1 (Ticker) -- Swin Cash netted 16 of her career-high 26 points in the first half, when the Detroit Shock set a WNBA scoring record on the way to their ninth win in 10 games, a 99-88 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

The Shock rode the highest-scoring first half in league history to a 56-47 lead. They used an 8-0 run to overcome an early deficit, taking the lead for good at 38-36 on a layup by Elaine Powell with 5:21 left.

The previous record for a first half was 55 points, set last August 4 by the Los Angeles Sparks in a 90-86 triumph over Utah, which moved to San Antonio prior to this season.

The Silver Stars climbed within 72-71 with 10:10 remaining on a three-point play by Marie Ferdinand. But Kedra Holland-Corn nailed a three-pointer to spark a 9-0 run. Deanna Nolan capped it with two free throws with 7:06 left, giving the Shock an 81-71 cushion.

Nolan finished with 15 points, Holland-Corn added 14 and rookie Cheryl Ford chipped in 12 and 15 rebounds for Detroit. The Shock shot 47.5 percent (29-of-61) from the field and outscored the Silver Stars at the line, 40-21.

Ferdinand and Adrienne Goodson established season highs with 26 and 22 points, respectively. But San Antonio lost its third straight and fell to 1-6 on the road.
