San Antonio had lost its first four road games by an average of 16 points, including a 93-53 setback at Seattle on Sunday.

Following a timeout, rookie Kara Lawson missed a three-pointer with eight seconds left but the rebound went to teammate Ticha Penicheiro. She also misfired from the arc, allowing San Antonio to escape with the victory.
