UNCASVILLE, Conn., June 22 (Ticker) -- Ruth Riley and Swin Cash combined for 13 points in overtime as the Detroit Shock matched a franchise record with their sixth straight win, 82-73 over the Connecticut Sun.

Cash, who starred on national championship teams for the University of Connecticut in 2000 and 2002, scored 22 points 9-for-18 shooting, helping the Shock to six straight wins for the first time since June 21-July 1, 1998.

Riley and Elaine Powell each poured in 16 points for Detroit, which had all of its starters score in double figures. Deanna Nolan added 15 points and Cheryl Ford grabbed 21 rebounds to set a WNBA rookie record.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored a career-high 28 points for Connecticut, which shot just 34 percent (28-of-82) and had a three-game home winning streak halted.

Nykesha Sales, the all-time leading scorer at the University of Connecticut, added 13 points for the Sun.

The Sun tied the score, 64-64, with 21.4 seconds left in the second half on a 3-pointer by Rebecca Lobo. A member of Connecticut's first national championship team in 1996, Lobo had nine points and six rebounds.

Detroit had a chance to win it in regulation, but Nolan missed a jumper and Riley's layup was off the mark.

Riley made 1-of-2 free throws 22 seconds into the extra session, and after Ford grabbed the rebound of the miss, Cash hit a layup for a 67-64 lead.

Sales hit a layup to get the Sun within 67-66 with 3:46 to go, but Ford answered with a layup 20 seconds later. McWilliams-Franklin made a layup as the Sun again got within one, but Riley sank a 14-footer with 2:35 left to ignite an 11-3 run.
