ORLANDO, Fla, Aug. 8 (Ticker) -- The playoff hopes of the Orlando Miracle are fading fast.

Kedra Holland-Corn scored 20 points and Yolanda Griffith added 18 and 10 rebounds as the red-hot Sacramento Monarchs posted an 82-72 victory over the Miracle.

The Monarchs already been eliminated from playoff contention but won for the eighth time in nine games and dealt a serious blow to the Miracle, who fell one-half game behind Indiana for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Orlando has just two games remaining and has already lost the season series to each of the top four teams in the East.

Orlando held its biggest lead at 47-42 with 17:07 remaining. Sacramento battled back to forge a 57-57 tie before reeling off eight straight points. Holland-Corn and La'Keshia Frett buried 3-pointers during the spurt.

The Miracle pulled within 67-65 with 3:42 remaining, but Ticha Penicheiro scored four of her 11 points during an 8-2 run as the Monarchs pulled away.

Holland-Corn and Griffith combined to make 13-of-21 shots as Sacramento shot 56 percent (28-of-50) from the floor, including 6-of-13 3-pointers.

Tangela Smith scored 13 points and Ruthie Bolton added 11 for the Monarchs, who won for just the third time in 14 road games this season.

Wendy Palmer scored 17 points and Shannon Johnson collected 16 and 10 assists as Orlando lost for the third time in four games.
