Sheri Sam scored 18 points and Sandy Brondello added 16 as the Miami Sol spoiled Leslie's moment with their first victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, 82-73.
The 6-5 Leslie threw down the historic dunk with 4:44 left in the first half to cut the deficit to 36-27. She put both hands in the air in celebration and was smiling as she ran back on defense.
However, it was her only basket of the half as Leslie misfired on her other seven shots and committed five turnovers. Her struggles put Los Angeles into a hole from which it never recovered.

Sam's basket gave Miami its largest lead at 65-47 with 10:15 remaining before Los Angeles finally came alive. Mwadi Mabika nailed a 3-pointer and Leslie finally made her second basket with a 3-pointer of her own.
Former Sol Marlies Askamp scored off a feed from Leslie to cap a 17-6 run that pulled the Sparks within 75-70 with 64 seconds remaining. Miami ran down the clock before Pollyanna Johns Kimbrough beat the shot clock with a layup with 31 seconds left to seal the win.
Mabika scored 17 points to lead the Sparks and Leslie finished with 13. The duo combined to make just 11-of-34 shots as Los Angeles had its four-game winning streak snapped.
