As part of the Indiana Fever’s Health Initiative the Fever and the US Army will stress the importance of eating and exercising healthy while showing kids fun ways to improve strength and endurance as well as basketball skills.

Thursday, May 6th
Habitat for Humanity Event

Habitat for Humanity ReStore

As part of the Indiana Fever’s Citizenship Initiative the Fever will help Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis prepare for future builds at their ReStore and help organize the store’s donations.  The Habitat for Humanity ReStore recycles new and used products that are still useful and provides great deals on items needed around the house while raising funds for Habitat for Humanity.

Friday, May 7th
Choices for Champions educational program with the Indiana Fever
In partnership with the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis at the Fever preseason game

Students will have the privilege of hearing from Indiana Fever’s very own, Tully Bevilaqua, Guest speakers from the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, WISH TV and more as they discuss the importance of Education, Health and Fitness, and Self-Esteem. After the program students will enjoy the Fever vs. Sky preseason game.

Fever players and coaches will be interacting with Fever season ticket holders and providing fun entertainment.

Thursday, May 13th

Read to Achieve Tip-Off
5 different school locations
1) Indiana Life Sciences Academy West (ILSAW) – 1-2pm, 1 player
2) IPS 58 – 1:30-2:30pm
3) Lakeside Elementary – 1:30-2:30pm
4) IPS 105 – 2-3pm
5) New Palestine Elementary, 2-3pm

As part of the Fever’s Education Initiative 5 Indiana Fever players and Fever staff will be visiting 5 different schools around Indianapolis for the Fever Read to Achieve Tip-Off Event.  The players will be promoting the value of reading and online literacy to elementary students while encouraging a life long love of reading.  Each player will address the school then visit with a class of students in the library to read and interact with the students.
