Storylines

• Indiana faces the Liberty for the third time this summer with the Fever currently holding a 2-0 edge in the season series. A Fever win would clinch the series victory over the Liberty.

• The Fever currently holds the second spot in the Eastern Conference, one game back of Atlanta. New York sits two games behind Indiana in the No. 4 spot.

• Fever veteran Tamika Catchings is just one steal shy of becoming only the second player in league history with 700 career takeaways. Catchings is 15 steals away from taking the lead in all-time steals.

• Catchings also is one assist from the milestone 1,000th of her career. Similarly, Katie Douglas needs two 3-point field goals to become the fifth player in WNBA history with 500 career 3-pointers.

• The Fever has won the last 13 regular-season games against the New York Liberty at Conseco Fieldhouse. This is tied for the longest streak in league history for wins by one team at home against a particular opponent. Los Angeles won thirteen 13 home games against Phoenix from 1997 through 2004. The Fever has beaten the Liberty 15 consecutive times overall at home, counting two playoff games. New York’s last win in Indianapolis was July 19, 2002.

Players to Watch
Fever – Tamika Catchings
Catchings has been consistent all season for the Indiana Fever and is having one of the best seasons of her career. One of the games best all-around players on both ends of the floor, she averages 16.6 points per game and a league-leading 2.74 steals per game. Catchings has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season and routinely fills the stat sheet in other categories, as well. In Sunday’s loss at Atlanta, she scored 24 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Liberty – Cappie Pondexter
Much of New York’s success this season can be attributed to Cappie Pondexter, the league’s fourth-leading scorer (20.9 ppg). In the recent Liberty victory over Connecticut, Pondexter surpassed the 3,000-point mark for her career, becoming one of the quickest players to achieve that feat. In her last game against the Fever, Pondexter scorched the nets for 40 points on 14-for-21 shooting.
