Indianapolis, IN (Feb. 27, 2013): Indiana Fever President and General Manager Kelly Krauskopf has announced the signing of Shyra Ely and Jessica Breland to training camp contracts. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Ely, a 6-2 forward, played collegiately at Tennessee and graduated locally from Ben Davis High School where she was the 2001 Indiana Miss Basketball, Ely came off the Fever bench during the 2011 season, averaging 3.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 10.7 minutes during 33 appearances. A veteran of six WNBA seasons, she was re-signed prior to the 2012 season, but tore the ACL in her left knee prior to training camp.

Traded by the Lynx, she played parts of her rookie season with New York and Connecticut, and was waived in training camp by Washington in 2012. She began the 2012-13 winter season playing in Turkey, and currently is a teammate with Fever point guard Briann January with Ramat Hasharon in Israel, where she averages 9.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
