FEVER ADDS MOHAMMED AND OLAJUWON TO TRAINING CAMP ROSTER
The Indiana Fever has added a pair of young centers to its training camp roster with the signing of Aisha Mohammed and Abi Olajuwon.
Mohammed, a six-foot-three center out of Virginia, was an undrafted free agent in Minnesota’s training camp out of college in 2009. She spent time in training camp with Los Angeles in 2010. Mohammed earned ACC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2008 and 2009 while averaging 12.9 points and 9.7 rebounds per game during two seasons as a Cavalier. She transferred to Virginia from Central Arizona College where she was named a first-team Kodak/WBCA All-American in 2006. Mohammed was forced to sit out the 2006-07 season due to a knee injury sustained while playing for Nigeria in the World Championships (September, 2006).
Olajuwon is a 6-4 center out of Oklahoma who appeared in six regular season games last year as a rookie with the Chicago Sky. She was waived in late June after averaging just 1.0 points in 5.0 minutes per game. The daughter of NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon, she helped lead the Sooners to the NCAA Final Four in 2009 and 2010. In 38 games as a senior, she averaged 10.6 points and 7.3 rebounds, shooting better than 50 percent from the field.
