Team Honors Black History Month

Helping to celebrate Black History Month in conjunction with Indiana Black Expo, the Indiana Fever will conduct a Reading TimeOut Wednesday, Feb. 25, featuring local sports celebrities from the Fever, Indiana Firebirds and Indianapolis Colts who will read and interact with approximately 90 children.

Helping to celebrate Black History Month in conjunction with Indiana Black Expo, the Indiana Fever will conduct a Reading TimeOut Wednesday, Feb. 25, featuring local sports celebrities from the Fever, Indiana Firebirds and Indianapolis Colts who will read and interact with approximately 90 children.
A part of the NBA/WNBA’s Read To Achieve Program, the program takes place from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Conseco Fieldhouse (Pepsi Square).
Three IPS schools have been invited to take part in Wednesday’s literacy event which concludes a month-long series of activities called “Literacy … Continuing the Legacy Event,” sponsored by Indiana Black Expo, The Indianapolis Recorder and the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. WXIN-TV anchorwoman Cheryl Adams will join players from the Fever, Firebirds and Colts as special guest readers for the event. They will read and discuss books written by African-American authors and/or associated with African-American culture.
