Point guard Erin Phillips is in Poland playing for Wisla Can-Pack (Krakow). Wisla Can-Pack finished in second place (7-3) in Group A of the 2011 EuroLeague. The team continued its success by winning the 2011 Polish PLKK regular season championship. Tangela Smith and Jeanette Pohlen are teaming in Tarsus, Turkey where they begin Turkish League action on Saturday October 22. This will be Pohlen’s first experience playing overseas as a professional athlete. Fever forward Shyra Ely travels to Switzerland to join Sdent Helios, which is the defending Swiss LNA regular season champion. Also expected to play overseas later this month is guard Shavonte Zellous who will play in Turkey in late October.

For Phillips and Wisla Can-Pack, the 2011-12 campaign has gotten off to a great start with the team being 4-0 in the Polish League and 2-0 in EuroLeague. Phillips has played two games for her Polish team, averaging 11.5 points per game.  Ely joins a team that is currently 2-0 in the Swiss League

A lot of the players that the Fever competed against this season will now become their teammates. Phillips is teaming with other WNBA players Kobryn Ewelina (Seattle Storm) and Nicole Powell (New York Liberty). Tarsus looks to build on its strong season last year by adding Smith, Pohlen and other WNBA notables such as Andrea Riley (Tulsa Shock), Plenette Pierson (New York Liberty), Jayne Appel (San Antonio Silver Stars), Alexis Hornbuckle (Minnesota Lynx) and Dominique Canty (Chicago Sky).
