Anna DeForge was named the MVP of the Polish Cup Tournament last weekend after leading her Krakow Wisla Can-Pack team to the championship in Gydnia, Poland. DeForge scored a game high 17 points and made all six free throws in leading the Polish League champions to a 59-55 win over host Lotos Gydnia. The Polish Cup championship was the first ever for DeForge's Krakow team.

DeForge, recently acquired by the Fever in a trade for Kelly Miller, has averaged 18.8 points per game during EuroLeague play with Wisla Can-Pack. Second in EuroLeague scoring to Indianapolis native Katie Douglas, she has added 5.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.7 rebounds while guiding her team to the EuroLeague's Sweet Sixteen.

Later this week, DeForge travels to Pecs, Hungary to play in the EuroLeague All-Star game with, and against, the best American, European, and Australian players currently playing in Europe. Many of the top WNBA stars will be participating in the game, including Douglas and Fever forward Jurgita Streimikyte. [Streimikyte, however, is not expected to return to Indiana this summer due to commitments with the Lithuania National Team]. After the game, DeForge will return to Krakow to help her team in the final major tournament in Poland, before returning to the U.S. for the upcoming WNBA season.

DeForge's recent honors are among several for Fever players this winter.

  • Point guard Tully Bevilaqua helped lead the Canberra Capitals to the WNBL Championship in Australia, and was a winner of the league's Good Hands Award, which honors the player with the most assists and steals, minus turnovers.
  • Forward Ebony Hoffman enjoyed her first season playing overseas. She was named to the Italian League All-Star Team after averaging 10.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. She ranked fourth among EuroCup rebounding leaders.
  • Similarly, Olympia Scott and Tan White have recently participated in the Turkish League All-Star Game. Scott has averaged 17.8 points and 10.9 rebounds while playing over 34 minutes per game. White, meanwhile, averaged 8.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
  • Also in Europe, free agent signee Linda Fröhlich has helped lead Spartak Moscow to the EuroCup Finals against Pays DŽAix Basket , of France. She has averaged 14.1 points and 7.5 rebounds in 14 EuroCup games. She leads the club with 20 3-pointers (35.7 percent), and her 21 steals are second on the team to Tamika Catchings - who played just seven games with the team before returning to her team in Korea.
