Miller 3s Winning Games in Korea

Kelly Miller’s 3-pointer with only five seconds remaining lifted the Woori Bank Hansae (4-2) to a 65-63 win over the Shinsegae CoolCat, Jan. 13, in Women’s Korea Basketball League action. Miller netted the winning shot and led her team with 22 points in the victory. Another Miller trey with 23 seconds left posted the Hansae to a 62-61 advantage and help set up her game-winning shot.

Picking up where her Indiana Fever teammate Tamika Catchings left off, Miller is raining 3s and winning games for the Woori Bank Hansae in the WKBL this winter. Miller, who joined the Hansae this winter after Catchings guided the Woori Bank team to winter and summer WKBL championships in 2003, is playing her first season in Korea. The WKBL began its season in late December and plays through March.

Miller, who played in Turkey last winter, scored 18 points in the team’s season-opening win on Dec. 28. She was the co-recipient of the WNBA’s Most Improved Player Award in September, and she begins her second season with the Fever when WNBA training camps open on April 24.
