Fever Waives Bell And Paige

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever has waived Nikita Bell and reserve point guard Yolanda Paige.

Bell was a free agent and one of four Fever players from the University of North Carolina. A second-round draft pick by the Detroit Shock last year, she was also waived by Detroit prior to the 2005 regular season. Paige, the Fever’s second-round draft pick in 2005, saw action in 13 games as a rookie, but was inactive most of the season.

The Fever opens its preseason schedule at Charlotte on Saturday, May 6, and hosts a preseason game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, May 11 (noon). Indiana begins the 2006 regular season when it hosts the Detroit Shock on Saturday, May 20 (7:00 p.m.).
