Fever Activates Bevilaqua From Injured List

News Release | June 15, 2005
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever has activated veteran point guard Tully Bevilaqua from the injured list. She is eligible to participate in tonight’s game with the Detroit Shock at Conseco Fieldhouse (7:00 p.m.).

Bevilaqua, a 5-6 guard from Australia, started Indiana’s first five games while sparking the Fever to a 4-1 record. She averaged 6.6 points and 2.0 assists in those games, and her 63.6 percent 3-point shooing mark (7-of-11) is ranked second in the WNBA. Bevilaqua was acquired by the Fever in January, signing as a free agent after helping Seattle to the 2004 WNBA Championship.

To make room for Bevilaqua on the 11-player active roster, rookie forward Jenni Benningfield (right knee strain) was placed on the team’s injured list.

The Fever, 5-3 overall and 4-0 at Conseco Fieldhouse, hosts the Shock on Wednesday in a battle of Eastern Conference contenders. Individual tickets for all Fever home games can be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Internet (Ticketmaster.com or ConsecoFieldhouse.com) or by phone at (877) WNBA-TIX.
