Deanna Jackson Named to All-Decade Team

News Release | March 1, 2005
Indiana Fever guard and former Alabama-Birmingham women's basketball standout Deanna Jackson, the only Conference USA player to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career, has been named to the Conference USA Women's Basketball Team of the Decade.

Jackson was a two-time all-conference selection (1999-00, 2000-01). Jackson was also honored by the league with the 1998-99 Freshman of the Year award, as well as being named the 2001-02 Honorary Conference Player of the Year. Jackson is second all-time at UAB with 2,144 career points despite playing only 11 games as a senior. She is also UAB's career leader in three different categories (rebounds, rebound average and blocked shots).

The Brewton, Ala., native was the eighth overall pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft, taken by the Cleveland Rockers. Jackson, who played the 2004 WNBA season with the Indiana Fever, has averaged 6.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in her three seasons in the league. She started 32 games with Indiana, averaging 6.9 points and a career-high 3.3 rebounds.
